The Intellectual Property Clerk provides administrative support to the IP Patent Prosecution, Transactions & Strategy practice group attorneys and support staff. This position assists with departmental file organization and maintenance as well as basic document creation.

As an Intellectual Property Clerk, you will:

• Prepare time sensitive correspondence for reporting various patent office submissions and documents
• Assist legal team with preparing documents for filing with the patent office
• Process daily incoming correspondence and maintain client electronic folders within the firm's DMS, including uploading, organizing and archiving documents
• Assist with researching and confirming patent data using various patent office websites
• Upload/download patent-related documents, correspondence, and data to and from client systems
• Download patent materials from the USPTO and compile client document files
• Review various USPTO communications for accuracy
• Assist with the foreign associate and client invoice process
• Collaborate with IP Specialists to open new client matters
• Assist with incoming and outgoing transfers of electronic materials

Job Specifications:

• Minimum High School degree (Bachelor preferred but not mandatory)
• Minimum 1 year Office experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services firm, prior intellectual property experience a plus
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word), document and file management, Adobe and other software
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and paperless environment
• Ability to learn new concepts and skills quickly
