Lab Technician - MLT - Summary:

• The Clinical Lab Technician collects and processes specimens, performs tests, reports results, and is responsible for the routine operation of the laboratory.

Lab Technician - MLT Qualifications:

• Associate degree in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology OR education/training equivalent to an associate degree
• ASCP certification
• Previous clinic experience
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
• Prior Epic and/or Sunquest experience preferred

Lab Technician - MLT - Responsibilities:

• Receives and processes lab orders.
• Provides instructions, prepares patient, collects specimens, and performs testing procedures.
• Performs phlebotomy including adult or pediatric venipunctures, finger sticks or heel sticks. Collects and processes urine and throat cultures.
• Performs chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, immunology, and microbiology testing.
• Processes and verifies laboratory results. Reports test results according to clinic protocols, alerting staff to critical results.
