Job Title: Project Manager Assistant, Onsite - Technologies

Reports to: Technologies Division Manager

Location: Des Moines, IA

FLSA Status: Full-Time / Non-Exempt

Position Description. The Project Manager Assistant, Onsite is a critical role within Baker Electric, Inc., a subsidiary of publicly traded EMCOR Group, Inc., and is located with the Des Moines, IA area. The position will partner with function as a liaison between onsite leaders, Project Managers and the Division Manager to support all clerical and administrative tasks defined within this position description. Preferred hours: 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., M-F.

Example Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Utilize accounting software to issue purchase orders for materials and equipment
  • Produce project documentation including submittals and operation manuals
  • Compile data and prepare project or personnel reports, i.e., personnel certifications, security & logistic access reports/approvals, site authorizations
  • Assist Project Management staff in maintaining accurate and current project documentation, i.e., printed labels, billable time, etc.
  • Create and track project information including change orders, RFIs, and submittals
  • Collect and organize project initiation and close out documents
  • Escalate critical and/or sensitive issues to the Division Manager / Executive Team with recommendations for resolution.
  • Comply with all Company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs as established.
  • Perform additional assignments as required by the needs of the company or as directed by executives.
  • Other related duties as assigned

Preferred Education and Experience (Knowledge)

  • Minimum 1-3 years related experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required: Associates Degree or higher preferred
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills, effectively in the English language

Required Attributes and Competencies (Skills)

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Excel formulas and formatting
  • Familiarity with Windows based operating systems and web based applications, include ERP systems or other construction/financial software packages
  • Must demonstrate integrity, honesty, professionalism and commitment to company values
  • Must have ability to build positive working relationships with multiple levels of employees, management, suppliers, and customers
  • Must have excellent organizational, communication, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills
  • Must demonstrate ability to effectively organize and manage multiple tasks and to meet frequent deadlines
