|Primary Purpose of Position||
The primary purpose of this position is to develop and teach courses in the areas of soil and water conservation engineering with an emphasis on water resources management, irrigation, and drainage engineering and watershed modeling, engineering properties of soil, physical properties of soils, principles of surveying, groundwater hydrology/engineering, conservation and efficient use of water, precision agriculture, etc. Teach and evaluate enrolled students in courses for academic credits as well as conduct academic advising.

With programs and expertise in such areas as biotechnology, agricultural and biosystems engineering, natural resources management, waste management, and food microbiology, the A&T College of Agriculture grows concurrently with the demand for qualified graduates. Our four academic departments are the Department of Agribusiness, Applied Economics and Agriscience Education; the Department of Animal Sciences; the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences; and the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Design. Within these departments, students will find a myriad of opportunities for classroom learning, research and fieldwork.
Through our Agricultural Research Program and our Cooperative Extension Program, we are able to research issues of importance to North Carolina and also provide research-based outreach training to citizens across the state and around the world.
An earned Ph.D. degree in Biological Engineering, Biological Systems Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or relevant field with an emphasis in soil and water engineering is required.
1 year of relevant experience for an assistant professor rank and 5 years of relevant experience for an associate professor rank.
|Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education||
Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in water quality, watershed modeling, precision agriculture and remote sensing, and modeling packages such as SWAT, EPIC, WEPP, RUSLE, and DRAINMOD.
Preference will be given to candidates with a strong background in teaching and research in the implied areas and with some knowledge of the ABET Accreditation and review process. At least 1 year of relevant experience for an assistant professor and 5 years of relevant experience for an associate professor.
