We are seeking talented software developers to create innovative simulations to support a new generation of deeply engaging science, engineering, and math learning experiences for K-12 students and teachers. As a software developer, you will build new Gizmos and related products and create and improve systems for authoring, deploying, and reporting on these products.

Job Responsibilities:

• Write code including the underpinning mathematical models for interactive simulations
• Work in sprints with a project leader and other developers
• Suggest new technology ideas to project leaders and developers
• Improve platform and deployment processes
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
• Participate in team discussions of software architecture and infrastructure
• Provide tools to help researchers access their project data, outputting data in different formats
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use
• For the right applicant, job responsibilities may also include Inventing new ideas for new interactive simulations

Job Requirements:

• Experience with application-level JavaScript, HTML5, and Canvas
• Experience with JavaScript libraries that would help with development of interactive simulations and relatedly support data visualization
• Experience with mathematical modeling of physical systems
• Experience integrating simulations with external systems (e.g. getter and setter methods)
• Confidence and collaborative skills to work in an agile environment
• A graduate degree in CS, EE, mathematics, or related field or equivalent work experience
• 4+ years of experience working as a Software Developer
• Have completed a software project with a team of developers and designers
• Ability to work independently when necessary
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Interest in creating superior educational software

Preferred Qualifications include experience with:

• Learning technologies like interactive simulations
• Learning design and/or learning experience design
• K-12 science or math teaching
• Science and/or math disciplinary content
• Track record of designing and building engaging learning technologies
• Cloud-based data storage
• Automated testing
• Creating clean, usable, and beautiful user interfaces
• Designing well-structured applications that communicate through extensible APIs
• PlayCanvas WebGL game engine
• Working on an agile team
