Position Summary | The Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE), fixed-term position at the Clinical Instructor level for the UNC Schizophrenia Evaluation and Treatment (STEP) Clinic in Raleigh, NC. The STEP Clinic provides comprehensive psychiatric and recovery services to approximately 500 individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, especially psychotic disorders. Role responsibilities for this individual include: *Provide evidence-based psychotherapy services to adults with psychotic disorders, mood disorders, substance use disorders and other psychiatric conditions. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements | Applicant must hold a Master's Degree in Social Work |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience | LCSW full licensure is preferred. LCSW-A may be considered. At least two years of direct work experience with person with severe and persistent mental illness is preferred. Must have a strong commitment to the right and ability of each person with a severe and persistent mental illness to live in normal community residences; work in market jobs; and have access to helpful, adequate, competent, and continuous support services. Skills and competence to establish supportive trusting relationships with persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses and respect for client rights and personal preferences in treatment are essential. |
