We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated corporate communications pro for the newly created position of Associate Director, Corporate Reputation, reporting to the Senior Director, Corporate Communications. The successful candidate will partner with internal and external partners to build Novavax' reputation with external stakeholders.

This individual will play a key role in helping to shape the company's future by working to build the Company's global reputation as a leader in delivering an impactful COVID-19 vaccine and developing innovative vaccines designed to protect against future infectious disease outbreaks.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the development and execution of a corporate reputation strategy aligned with company goals and objectives that includes corporate positioning, thought leadership, reputation and issues management
  • Develop content, including messages and talking points, sponsored content and other Novavax announcements or communications materials
  • Create executive briefing materials and assist in preparation for impactful delivery
  • Support company sponsorship and participation in public events and industry meetings
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the vaccines market, relevant scientific topics, and business context
  • Work compliantly within a highly regulated industry
  • Support other aspects of communication, including but not limited to logistics, reporting, etc.
  • Liaise with internal inter- and intradepartmental partners as needed
  • Partner with the company's external PR agency to support achievement of strategic goals and annual communication plan

Minimum Requirements:

  • S. in communications, journalism, or biology
  • Relevant 8+ years of experience in external communications in the life sciences; in-house biotech/pharma experience preferred
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Ability to understand and synthesize industry content in a meaningful and impactful manner
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with high attention to detail
  • Ability to design reports and presentations that create understanding
  • Experience with and ability to understand the needs of senior leaders while fostering effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and partners
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to results while developing professional skills in a positive work environment
  • High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
