Position Summary:

We are looking for a data scientist to join our Analytics, Research & Insights team in the Marketing group. For this full-time Manager, Data Science position, we seek a person with strong programming, data engineering and statistical skills.

Our goal is to empower our marketing partners to acquire, retain, and increase engagement of our subscribers. In this role, you will work closely with the data science team to build predictive models, create centralized machine learning tools for the data science team, and make recommendations that support these objectives. You will also work closely with our business and IT stakeholders to support Pega (a centralized CRM platform) initiatives, including feature engineering, test design and execution, and modeling.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with marketing teams to design tests and provide statistical evaluation of results.
  • Prepare and present findings and recommendations to senior management.
  • Ensure that all test populations are unbiased and being setup with proper statistical rigor. Validate that tests are being executed to test design specifications.
  • Develop and implement predictive models to support Marketing business partners.
  • Provide data science support for Pega platform expansion, including champion challenger testing, improving Next Best Action models in the Pega system, and identifying opportunities to improve strategies.
  • Ensure that modeling data is being reviewed regularly and updated as deemed appropriate.
  • Build strong working relationships and develop deep partnerships with Marketing lines of business, customer channel operations, and enterprise data teams.
  • Contribute to Data Science and Advanced Analytics team's internal data science Python package, and modeling automation initiatives.
  • Drive technical innovation through active research and application of new theories, techniques, and technologies.

  • None

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years analyzing and providing insights using data; or Master's degree with quantitative rigor (applications in statistics, mathematics and computer programing).
  • Prior experience designing tests and analyzing results, such as for marketing, product, or strategies
  • Prior experience create compelling data visualizations using tools such as R, Python and Tableau. Experience creating interactive visuals/dashboards/applications for business clients is a plus
  • Prior experience building machine learning and statistical models for supervised and unsupervised learning, understanding of underlying algorithms, ability to tune and analyze algorithms and extract actionable insights
  • Ability to work with raw data, including big data, knowledge of preprocessing procedures and ability to prepare data for modeling; experience in feature engineering.
  • Extensive experience wrangling / cleaning data.
  • Experience or background with the Pega platform is a plus
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, etc.) is a plus

  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient programming skills in Python and/or R
  • Proficient with common Python data analysis packages (numpy, pandas, matplotlib, seaborn, etc.)
  • Proficient with common Python machine learning packages/API's (scikit-learn, XGBoost, etc.). Knowledge of deep learning packages (keras, tensorflow, etc.) a plus
  • Proficient with SQL and background knowledge of databases
  • Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
