Job Description
General Summary:

Performs various clerical tasks including but not limited to transaction processing, document preparation, record retention, filing, answering telephone, processing department mailings, and supply inventory monitoring.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Answers telephone calls and emails from internal Bank staff and Bank customers. Documents Bank customer transaction requests in Correspondent Services such as Funds Transfers, Safekeeping, Deposit Services, Bank customer overdrafts, performs signature verifications where required, and enters transaction activity into Correspondent Services systems.
 
  • Prepares documents for scanning and digital retention, , ensures proper storage of records and logging of departmental e-mail activity, file various documents, and process mailings to Bank customers and external entities.
 
  • Answers inquiries from internal Bank staff and Bank customers. Provides routine information such as account balances, activity on account, etc.
 
  • Serves as an integral component of the Correspondent Services department Business Resumption Contingency Plan and actively participates in the testing of this plan.
 
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
 
  • Knowledge of banking at a level normally acquired through completion of an Associate’s degree in business.
 
  • Basic working knowledge of personal computer, Excel, and Word.
 
  • Effective communication and listening skills with the ability to negotiate effectively, interact in a professional manner and to build strong relationships within the Bank and external contacts. 
 
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy.  Must possess problem solving skills to find and implement solutions to problems/situations. Ability to follow established procedures and to prioritize workload. Capability to work well under pressure and meet established deadlines.
 
  • Initiative to continually seek improvements within current job responsibilities.
 
  • Willingness to take directions and act as an apprentice to more senior staff to learn cross functional job knowledge for providing back up support to all areas of the department. 
 
  • Adaptable to change, receptive to new ideas, and willingness to assume new responsibilities.

Working Conditions:

Flexibility to meet changing deadlines and working conditions.  Ability to lift five to ten pound document storage containers on an occasional basis.

Notation: This position has been identified as “high risk” as outlined in the Bank’s Background Check policy. Individuals occupying this position will be required to submit to a background check biennially.  Such repeat background check(s) are considered a “condition of continued employment”.
