Job Description

As a Senior Team Lead, Software Engineering within Cerner Consulting you will develop and implement enhancements to solutions dedicated to our consulting and project teams. You will collaborate closely with engineers, solution designers and visual designers during the development process. In this job you will drive the technology that brings the design to life and explore new methods and languages to discover the best fit and be able to work with code and data to deliver high-quality solutions that will have a major impact on the medical community. Responsibilities also include defining user needs, providing input on functional design, testing, and troubleshooting. Projects can range from functionality enhancements for one user to broad solutions that transform and optimize the operations of an entire department.

As a Team Lead, you will provide high-level architecture guidance and develop specifications to resolve software problems in addition to supporting process improvement projects organized by the team. You will have responsibility for mentoring associates in their professional growth, providing recognition, and coaching them through project milestones. In this job you will also help identify associate and team level priorities based on organizational needs, adjusting as necessary.

Qualifications

  • At least 6 years total combined higher education and related work experience, including:
    • Minimum of 1 year software engineering work experience
    • Minimum of 5 years higher education and/or additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job, including:
      • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or relevant degree or equivalent work experience
  • At least 1 year of people management, matrix management, project management or other indirect leadership work experience
  • US citizenship required
  • Receipt of the appropriate government security clearance card applicable for your position
  • Due to the client contract you will be assigned, this position requires you to be a U.S. citizen
Preferred
  • At least 3 years of CCL work experience
  • At least 3 years of Java, Groovy and/or Python work experience
  • At least 5 years of Millennium work experience
  • Experience working in a scaled agile environment
  • Functional knowledge or experience in a software healthcare environment
  • Functional knowledge in Interoperability Standards (HL7, FHIR)
