Job/Internship Description

An ideal opportunity for a senior-level high school level student wanting to pursue an undergraduate engineering or physics degree to gain real-life Radio Frequency (RF) experience at the Applied Electromagnetics Division of Applied Research Associates in Dayton, Ohio. Interns will have the opportunity to work within the Electromagnetics, Materials, and Devices team to:

  • assist with RF-related tests using a vector network analyzer
  • learn how to do RF analysis using MATLAB, LABVIEW, and other computer tools
  • apply sample test fixtures, perform RF measurements, and process data
  • utilize wood and metal working tools to fabricate fixtures and crates

RF Intern Requirements:

  • High school senior soon to graduate wanting to gain real-life experience
  • Aptitude for hands-on use of tools and electronic equipment
  • Aptitude for independent work
  • High GPA a plus (3.5+)

Intern Preferences:

  • Already enrolled in college-level courses while in high school a plus
  • High school physics and calculus a plus

Applicants for this position should be able to live within a 25-mile radius as no housing stipend or moving allowance will be provided.
