The DHS Science and Technology (S&T) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) requires professional technical support services to assist its various organizations, missions, functions, and objectives enabling DHS S&T to facilitate research and development, test and evaluation, and scientific knowledge and technological transfers to the DHS Operational Components. DHS S&T requires this support to maintain and evolve its organization. These services will support the following functions within DHS S&T: strategic planning and performance management, budget formulation, budget execution, policy and procedure development, financial management, procurement management, administrative support, human capital management, physical, personnel and information security management, real and personal property management (to include fleet), facilities management, records management, mail management, subscriptions, occupational safety and health, environmental and energy management, environmental planning and historic management communications planning, conference/event planning, travel management, network, systems and applications engineering, information assurance, IT governance, operations, and maintenance.

    Analyzes systems for potential vulnerabilities that may result from improper system configuration, hardware or software flaws, or operational weaknesses; and presents any security issues that are found to the system owner with an assessment of their impact and a recommendation for mitigation or a technical solution.
  • Evaluates configurations and implementation of firewalls, proxy servers, routers, VPNs, Intrusion Detection System (IDS), wireless networks, etc. against legal requirements, departmental/local policy, industry best practices and vendor recommendations.

  • Bachelor's Degree and 11 Years minimum experience
  • CISSP, CAP, CASP, CISM, and/or GSCL certification; and 10-15 years of related experience.
  • Experience with security tools such as Nmap, Metasploit, Nexpose, Nessus, Kali Linux, etc., as well as other various commercial and self- developed tools.
  • Has strong knowledge of the Windows architecture and familiarity with Linux/Unix. Has familiarity with Security Incident Response Techniques and Processes.
