Job Description for Quality Control Coordinator
Title: Quality Control Coordinator
Reports to: Operations Manager of Newark
Scope: Responsible for quality management of all shop projects and repairs. Will ensure high customer satisfaction from project inception to completion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned, as needed:
  • Assure the accuracy, thoroughness and quality of repairs and inspections
  • Make sure all projects are launched quickly and efficiently
  • Make sure staff fully understands each project
  • Anticipate and remove the roadblocks for effective execution
  • Facilitate quick turn-around time and throughput
  • Audit, monitor and hold staff accountable for proper and accurate documentation
  • Provide written assessments of mechanical and overall condition of buses as requested
  • Actively participates and provides constructive, positive and useful content and comments in customer meetings and calls in support of the ABC narrative and mission
  • Know, understand, and implement Company policy and procedures related to service operations
  • Promotes safe work habits and a safe clean work environment
  • Embraces and promotes ABC's customer service philosophy
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in an automotive environment, motorcoach preferred, and body-shop experience is a bonus
  • Able to read and understand specifications and prints
  • Requires good organizational skills to include the ability to effectively manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks and complete assignments within expected time frames
  • Familiar with and proficient in the use of computer and systems for business application Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other business ERP systems
  • Preferred to have ASE, Cummins, Detroit, and Allison certifications

  • Be able to multi-task and work independently
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the company, its customers, and vendors
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures and follow directions
  • Willingness to be flexible and productive
  • Strong organization skills
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend the English language
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift, push and pull at least 20 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time (50-80% of shift)
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat and lift throughout a shift
  • Ability to work in and outdoors for extended periods of time
