Job Title: Custodial Supervisor (NARA)K

Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Custodial Supervisor for the National Archives Building in Washington, DC

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Schedules and trains staff as needed.
  • Provides work direction and assistance to custodial/grounds services staff
  • Completes all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains daily upkeep of assigned area and equipment; Perform janitorial duties.
  • Records all needed repairs and ensures that the repairs are done in a timely fashion.
  • Ensures building and property is secure during shift and reports incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
  • Operates motorized equipment used for cleaning.
  • Assists in purchasing cleaning supplies/equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

    • High school diploma with at least 5 to 7 years of experience in commercial cleaning required.
    • Experience as a Custodial Supervisor preferred
    • Experience and knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
    • Basic understanding of the upkeep, care and safe operation of motorized equipment used for cleaning i.e. auto scrubber, buffer, snow blower, trash compactor, genie lift, pressure washer, box compactor, sweeper, etc.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents in English.
    • Understanding of cleaning compounds, chemicals, and their safe and efficient use.
    • Basic computer knowledge.
    • Ability to move up to 50 pounds of materials and/or tools to remote building locations up to 200 feet away 10-15 times a day.
    • Ability to erect and stand on scaffolding, ladders, and platforms 3-4 times a week.
    • Ability to work at heights up to 30 feet for extended periods of time 3-4 times a week.
    • Ability to work with paint, clean equipment, chemical compounds, solvents, cleaners, and solutions in dry, liquid, powder, spray, and aerosol forms.
    • Ability to operate motorized equipment as needed.
    • Work in conditions that will create dirt and dust.
    • Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
