Berger Transfer & Storage, Inc is a leading provider of relocation, distribution, and warehousing services. Founded in 1910, Berger has been providing moving and storage services to individuals and businesses for over 110 years!

We are seeking a GENERAL MANAGER to join our team in Columbus, Ohio! Our General Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations. Management functions including hiring, training and leading a team of employees and drivers that provide excellent customer service. This individual will also be responsible for developing and managing an annual budget, while driving for constant growth and profitability.

Responsibilities for our General Manager include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee day-to-day operation of the office, warehouse, and fleet;
  • Meeting or exceeding all sales, budget and profit goals;
  • Expand the hauling fleet, while continuously maintaining a high level of quality service for our customers;
  • Ensure company standards and safety protocols are followed;
  • Oversee short and long-term financial and managerial reporting;
  • Create and implement SOP's and KPI's to increase efficiency within the branch;
  • Lead, develop, and monitor staff and crew performance;
  • Other duties as assigned

The successful candidate for this position will share the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • High School Diploma required, secondary education in a relatable field is preferred;
  • Minimum of 5 years of relatable industry experience;
  • Minimum of 3 years' management experience;
  • Experience working with a diverse workforce;
  • Ability to communicate with customers and staff effectively and efficiently both verbally and in writing;
  • Strong multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment;
  • Solid leadership skills
