Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Database Administrator to provide management and support for enterprise level SQL databases at the Detroit Arsenal. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

Provide database support and development. Develop tables, columns, triggers, stored procedures, queries, and other related database manipulation components. Develop and test legacy data migration routines to support deployment. Support sequencing diagrams and process flow development, data profiling, data analysis, and logical and physical data modeling. Ensure that database design and system capabilities meet validated user requirements. Monitor database usage, troubleshoot data compatibility and integrity issues, and make modifications for enhanced performance. Define and document database administration policies and procedures. Evaluate the integration of new tools or technologies based on the capabilities of the existing infrastructure. Make recommendations to management with regards to potential areas for improvement to increase efficiency.

Qualifications

6+ years experience in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of database management systems. Bachelor's degree in a related field. Must be Security+ certified. Able to obtain a MCSA: SQL Server 2012/2014 and the MySQL Database Administration certifications within six months of hire. In-depth experience with MS SQL Server. Thorough knowledge of the software/system development life cycle (SDLC). Experience developing tables, columns, triggers, stored procedures, and queries. Experience monitoring database usage, troubleshooting data compatibility and integrity issues, and making modifications for enhanced performance. Able to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization. Organized, attentive to detail, and willing to pursue resolutions to issues as they arise. Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
