The Product Copywriter presents NCI's products in a clear, accurate, and compelling way. Our product copywriter does not simply describe our products - but helps sell them. From understanding our customer motivations to creating engaging content, our product copywriter tells the story of NCI's products.

Highlights of Responsibilities:

    Create compelling and engaging copy for product descriptions, promotional materials
  • Write clear and engaging content to describe NCI's products
  • Write and maintain product descriptions on the NCI Empower Platform as well as other online pages as needed
  • Conduct competitive research for identifying the strengths and weakness of products and concepts
  • Collaborate with NCI design team to create compelling graphics that support the written word
  • Apply SEO principles to maximize reach to our target audience
  • Accurately and succinctly describe the vision and value of NCI's products
  • Be an expert in the value of NCI products to properly translate technical details into benefits for our customers and partners
  • Closely collaborate with our product development organization to develop copy which resonates with our target buyer personas
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure our product copy tells a strong story of how we solve customers' problems
  • Develop product copy that differentiates NCI's products from others in the market


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent related experience
  • Prior experience as a Product Copywriter, Copywriter or similar role
  • A portfolio of copywriting samples and published articles
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills, creativity, time-management skills, and a strong attention to detail
  • At least seven (7) years of professional experience
  • Experience of working with MS Office, design software (e.g. Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.), and Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress)
  • Familiarity with keyword search methods as well as SEO tools as well as web analytics tools (Google Analytics, WebTrends, etc.)
  • At least two (2) years' experience in Government Contracting
