Job Description

Bremer Bank is seeking an Ag Banker in the Bismarck community. This position requires the candidate to have significant years of Ag Banking experience, managing an ag portfolio while ensuring the delivery of exceptional client service and the achievement of benchmark standards and individual performance objectives, while minimizing credit risk exposure.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Be a leading referral source to other business lines and partner with other business lines to deliver premier service to all clients.
  • Perform outbound sales calling, new business development and retention activities which include conducting sales calls, utilizing sales management systems and tools, attending sales meetings, maintaining an appropriate pipeline, and identifying and pursuing referral opportunities.
  • Analyze financial information to design loan structures and credit pricing, recommend and/or authorize loan approval and execute loan transactions.
  • Business development and retention, credit analysis, loan structure design, risk management, community involvement, and ensuring the assigned portfolio is in compliance with all applicable standards, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain an individual portfolio between $20MM and $50MM, and its credit quality to ensure compliance with all applicable standards, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements to minimize risk: assign risk ratings, maintain pricing strategies, enforce fee schedules, monitor past due notes and execute the charge off and work out processes as required.
  • Perform onsite inspections of Ag operations to monitor collateral and to serve as an ad hoc consultant in capital purchases, credit management, and economic trends affecting business operations
  • Significant experience with all government farm programs. Strong working knowledge of bank products and services and non-bank offerings such as investments and insurance.
  • Work closely with and mentor other Ag Bankers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university at least 7 years of related experience; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in the credit administration and lending functions; background in agriculture; and experience with business development activities.
  • Not required for this job, however Ag Bankers that sell multi-peril and/or crop/hail insurance must obtain and maintain the appropriate licensure.
