Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Office Engineer with a strong background in rail track work and experience supporting the Resident Engineer in delivering construction projects.

As Office Engineer, you will play a vital role in executing the construction of rail projects by providing office engineering, project administration, document control services, and technical support. Must have experience working with a team with responsibilities including oversight of construction, coordination with the Contractor, review of contract plans, specifications, and bid documents, coordination with the owner and third-party stakeholders such as utilities. Additional desired experience includes change order management, administrative and technical management support, knowledge of rail systems (for the purposes of constructability review), field coordination of work, activation and commissioning of new assets. Preferred experience with Rail electrical projects, but not required.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Project Managers, the Contractor and field teams to develop and execute the schedule, planned work and ensure work is performed in compliance with the contract and owners' requirements.
  • Review and analyze project documents, including drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure compliance and identify any potential issues or conflicts.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress, identify issues, and provide technical guidance as needed.
  • Track work and report on progress and milestones achieved, potential concerns and mitigation of risks.
  • Assist with the preparation, response and review of RFIs, Submittals, Shop Drawings, change orders and other documents required by the owner.
  • Utilize project/construction management software and tools such as MS Office, Procore, Adobe Acrobat.
  • Support the project closeout process by compiling as-built documentation, warranties, Owner's Manuals, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Office Engineer in Rail construction management.
  • In-depth knowledge of rail construction techniques, materials, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication skills to manage a collaborative team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to proactively manage potential issues that arise in construction.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication with the team, Contractor, owner and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with application safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range

USD $38.00 - USD $75.00 /Hr.
