Brief Posting Description:

Uncovering new business development opportunities and effectively working with managers and the sales force that would be executing on these highly qualified opportunities.

Detailed Job Description:

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Cold call a targeted list of prospects to generate new business

Maintain and develop customer relationships with the WESCO sales field

Consistently make 70-100 outbound phone calls per day, speak with a decision maker per day and maintain a minimum of an hour and half or more of talk time per day

The Telemarketing Sales Representative will be expected to use effective phone skills to call managers and directors in IT, Facilities, Telecom and Security to uncover the following types of projects:

Facility moves/re-locations/expansions/new construction

Network upgrades/re-cabling projects

Sound & paging projects

Wireless/VOIP projects

Analog & IP video surveillance projects



Key information to uncover includes but is not limited to:

Current & future specs

Incumbent contractors

Size, scope and time frame of project

Job Requirements:

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities-

Assertive team player with positive attitude and high energy

Competitive drive and self-motivated

Effective skills in phone-based marketing

Proficient in standard office PC and computer equipment software

Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to work with minimal supervision

Superior oral and written communication skills

Out of state travel will be required for company training


1-2 years in a Telemarketer role

Outbound calling - sales experience

Background and knowledge of the voice/data or electrical industry preferred


Associates Degree required
