Job Description
The Process Control Manager performs daily verification of manufacturing procedures and processes to ensure compliance, and documents accordingly. This position will be required to optimize our process by identifying areas of improvement and working with Operations Management to close these gaps. The position will be required to write comprehensive procedures for every step in the process, and ensure all Operations personnel are properly trained (Management and Hourly). This role will be responsible for delivering projects to the cost savings goals and the overall effectiveness of the Process Control department. The role will also be responsible for AQL’s on inbound raw materials, track and trend analysis, claims, and implementing tracking capabilities by supplier, by product type.

Responsibilities:
 
  1. Perform daily pre-op inspections, conduct daily monitoring and testing, as required.
  2. Monitor employee practices and possible trouble areas whether human or machine.
  3. Perform all HACCP paperwork and verifications daily, as well as documenting and implementing corrective actions.
  4. Perform daily verifications of manufacturing procedures and verify paperwork as required.
  5. Perform special tasks or assignments as needed for the department including production tests, data collection, upstream process evaluation, and problem solving.
  6. Perform all AQL’s on inbound raw materials, analyze results, log into Supplier Defect Report, and summarize finding to Corporate Purchasing.
  7. Assists and facilitates Operations with 5S and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  8. Provide back-up coverage when needed for Operations in a Supervisory role.
  9. Develop and implement process improvements to help the plant meet the costs savings target.
  10. Develops and implements a comprehensive training plan for Sanitation personnel.
  11. Assure SSOP compliance.
  12. Facilitate Sanitation, Quality, Maintenance, Operations communications regarding Process Control needs for the facility
  13. Creates, trains, and implements Process Control policies and procedures and implement, revise  and track Process Control failures.
  14. Develop Process Control procedures for new equipment as needed
  15. Responsible for budgeting the Process Control Department
  16. Required to implement and track at least four cost savings improvements each year to help plant meet cost savings goals
  17. Guides Process Control Team in process control, personnel practices, efficient operations, safety, employee development, and employee retention goals
  18. Helps ensure USDA and OSHA regulations are followed
  19. Evaluates work processes and systems for efficiencies and process flow, while controlling and reducing overtime

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Engineering or related field from a regionally accredited college or University required
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, required.
  • 3+ years of experience in management or related experience and/or training, required.
  • Manufacturing knowledge and understanding of yields, plant efficiencies and operations procedures.
  • Knowledge of OSHA Standards and USDA and HACCP regulations.
  • Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary to facilitate meetings and training sessions.
  • Must have the ability to evaluate performance and provide constructive feedback and assistance for improvement.
  • Ability to lead a diverse work force.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Internet, spreadsheet, Word processing, order processing and sales software.
  • Must be able to travel 10% of the time.
