The Chief Operation Officer (COO) provides leadership and strategic vision for US and international certification activities including organic, food safety, and related programs and services. The COO supports the overall integrity, efficiency, and success of the certification programs through effective leadership, operational oversight, value chain analysis, strategic planning, and budget management. The COO develops, communicates, and implements growth strategies. Supports the company mission to promote organic and sustainable agriculture through the company’s programs and services. Applies QCS values in their daily work. Performs other duties as directed by Chief Executive Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS Master in Business Administration (MBA) or related field are preferred. Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, including six years in a leadership role. Collaborative leadership style with a focus on employee engagement and job satisfaction. Demonstrated excellence in leadership, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Strong business acumen, strategic mindset, and superior project management. Expertise in budget development and oversight. Strong understanding of third-party certification. Excellent computer and database skills. Committed to QCS’ mission to provide a variety of quality certification/verification options that promote sustainability as well as enhance global market access from seed to shelf through partnerships, innovations, and technology. Proficiency in conversational Spanish and international business experience preferred.
