Job Description
Responsible for supervising non-exempt employees to produce the highest quality Space/Severe products while meeting schedule requirements for the area to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Education:
  • AA Degree or equivalent vocational certificate in a technical program or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of electronics manufacturing experience with circuit card assemblies and box builds; preferably with Space products
  • Adept with J-STD-001 soldering requirements, as well as NASA and IPC Space Addendum
  • Inspection of soldering of PCB components
  • Experience with continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing, preferred
  • Ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers in a team environment
  • Strong computer, communication, interpersonal and analytical skills required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Business acumen and strong commitment to quality
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Vision corrected to 20/20
  • Ability to obtain a Government granted security clearance, if necessary
  • Successfully complete and demonstrate the ability to perform the requirements of the following programs: All Manufacturing Training Programs; Solder Certification; PWB Handling; First Piece Certification; Component Identification; Right-To-Know; ESD; etc.
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates the implementation of Space/Severe activities to meet goals, quality, and cost objectives; proactively plans manpower, facility, and equipment needs based on production schedule
  • Tracks daily goals through Production Analysis Board and assures performance to the schedule
  • Ensures the correct work layout and skill set is in place, either personally or through Team Leaders/skills trainer, in effective equipment and material handling to meet production/quality standards and oversees such standards
  • Trains, coaches, and mentors the Space/Severe Team
  • Meets plans and daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly production schedules; monitors cycle time and overtime expenses
  • Participates in Production Readiness Reviews; makes recommendations regarding products, processes and specifications in conjunction with Engineering and Supply Chain to improve product flow and processes
  • Observes and enforces strict adherence to security procedures regarding CCI and classified materials as well as safety rules
  • Creates and fosters a culture of problem identification and solving
  • Ensures all production activities are in compliance with ISO standards and procedures and conforms to product quality levels
  • Works with Operations Manager and others to identify and address inefficiencies and opportunities for cost reduction as well as process improvements to improve quality and on time delivery
  • Administers all Human Resources programs and policies (including selection, promotion, transfers, salary administration and termination) without regard to race, religion, sex, national origin, age or handicap
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
