The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing evaluation, preventative, and corrective maintenance, including immediate repairs on a variety of equipment utilized in the production process. Works with Production Line leadership, Process, Quality, and Test engineers on multiple product lines supporting both commercial and Government value streams.
Provides first line of support to production floor to troubleshoot, repair, and establish preventative maintenance priority on manufacturing equipment as necessary
Assists in monitoring, evaluating, or improving the performance of all manufacturing equipment through maintenance and calibration/validations
Controls departmental records on equipment maintenance, repairs, training, and calibration. Ensure that equipment complies with departmental and company standards
Assists in evaluating perishable tooling, mean time between failure data, and communicates needs for updates as well as modifications for such
Maintains machine parts and tooling inventory
Support engineering continuous improvement efforts
Provides assistance in determining root cause, and systematically solves issues on equipment and end product, aiding engineers, other technicians, and operators
Requirements:
AS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or vocational certificate in a technical program
Minimum 2 years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly equipment used in electronics manufacturing
Good working knowledge of Mechanical/Electronic Background
Skilled in problem solving techniques and methods (process, product, procedure). Experience with continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing preferred.
Working knowledge of electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical operations/systems with the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
Familiarity with work standards and visual manufacturing instructions
May require handling or exposure to chemicals used in the production area
Continuous standing during daily support initiatives. Occasional lifting and moving of material and fixtures over 25 pounds and up to 60 pounds. Infrequent movement of equipment with casters in excess of 100 pounds
Ability to obtain a US Government granted security clearance
Strong interpersonal skills and team building skills
Strong computer skills (Proficient with MS Office Suite)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
