Job Description
The Chicago Council on Global Affairs is where your world and the world meet. The Council is a nonpartisan, non-profit organization that empowers more people to help shape our global future. Our in-person programming informs, inspires, and involves a diverse community in creating a more open and promising world for all. The Council celebrated its centennial anniversary in 2022. Do you want to help shape our next century?

The Role

The Chicago Council on Global Affairs is seeking a Supervising Producer of Live Events to lead in-person programming for the next generation of global influencers.

The Council hosts 2-3 public events monthly at our state-of-the-art conference center to afford our community the opportunity to engage with government leaders, changemakers, and people with lived experience confronting critical global challenges. Council programs also support community connection and offer diverse perspectives that advance civil understanding.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of convening interesting conversations with measurable ripple effects. They will have experience: anticipating what people want to know about global moments, booking compelling people with authoritative and distinct points of view, and creating programming that elevates expertise and grows reach.

The person in this hands-on leadership role will work collaboratively across the organization to generate, vet, and prioritize ideas, coordinate resources, and produce programs that deepen and extend loyalty to the Council and amplify our collective impact in the world.

This job will be most meaningful to a creative thinker with a drive for excellence, strong knowledge of world events, and a commitment to global involvement. You will also be a coach who helps others learn and succeed.

This is a collaborative, hands-on team looking for a leader who is relentlessly curious and who understands how to interest people in the important global events of the day.

This is a Chicago-based hybrid role and requires in-person attendance at our Downtown Chicago location. The position reports to the Vice President, Studios.
