JOB TITLE:   Material Specialist         DATE:  October 2022 

PLANT/DEPARTMENT:   Shipping/Receiving/Materials              DIRECTED BY:   Team Lead

IMPORTANT WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:   Production floor, Inventory Specialist, Purchasing department, Quality department, and Aftermarket Sales, manufacturing engineering.   

DIRECTS:   None

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:  Meets and demonstrates safety in the workplace. Proficient execution of all Shipping and Receiving operations with no guidance. Provide training for all levels of personnel in department. Offer daily guidance in department to prioritize safety, quality, schedule, and cost. Demonstrate the ability to meet routed hours with acceptable quality.   

MAJOR DUTIES:
 
  1. Safe operations of all forklifts available at facility
  2. Crane operation and rigging
  3. Material movement between all inside and outside operations
  4. Kitting of jobs per instructions
  5. Inventory transactions using a computer and scanner device
  6. Packaging of outgoing shipments
  7. Ensure material preservations and proper identification
  8. Unload/load delivery trucks
  9. Generating and Processing of paperwork for all incoming and outgoing shipments
  10. Communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  11. Be able to guide and assist entry level Shipping/Receiving personnel
  12. Ability to reconcile and correct inventory counts in ERP System
  13. Provide trouble shooting assistance to personnel in department
  14. Schedule shipment with appropriate carrier
  15. Other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED/SPECIAL NOTES:
  • Basic understanding of supply chain
  • Basic blueprint reading, basic math, and use of measuring devices
  • Basic computer usage including typing, Windows © navigating, and Microsoft Office ©
  • Experience with ERP System

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 lbs.
  • Long periods of standing, bending, and crouching
  • Use of ladders to reach shelves and trays
  • Perform duties outside for long periods of time
