Job Description
Join our team who is committed to the delivery of the highest quality health care service.  We are seeking a Department of Environmental Health & Community Wellness Manager that is self-motivated, energetic, and a take charge individual.

Responsibilities:
Staff
  1. Provide day-to-day oversight of DEH&CW office operations.
  2. Plan and facilitate DEHCW onboarding and training in partnership with Director.
  3. Supervise Home-Based Health Risk: Lead Outreach Program (LOP) division and Community School Coordinators, and AmeriCorps Member. Ensure program deliverables and program quality are met.
  4. Assist with support and mentorship of all DEH&CW staff.
  5. Plan, coordinate, and lead DEHCW professional development and oversee DEHCW Culture.
  6. Convene and lead department meetings and other meetings as needed. Attend Milwaukee Community School Partnership meetings and SSCHC organizational meetings.
  7. Perform HR related activities including interviewing, onboarding and training, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of staff concerns and navigating staff relations, corrective action plans, advising and mentoring, professional development, operational support, maintaining a positive staff culture, providing ongoing staff support. 

Program and Grant Management
  1. Perform administrative activities for key grants providing oversight and management to ensure program quality and that grant deliverables are being met.
  2. Work with DEH&CW staff and SSCHC Advancement department in the preparation of grant applications and reports.
  3. Assist in development of new programmatic initiatives, partners, and sources of support.
  4. Maintain knowledge and familiarity of DEHCW grant portfolio.

Finance
  1. Assist in DEH annual budgeting process and assist in the preparation, monitoring and management of departmental budgets, including collaboration with SSCHC finance staff.
  2. Recommend, track, and manage grant budgets.

Strategy and Operations
 
  1. Ability to use OCHIN Electronic Medical Records.
  2. Work with Director to develop and implement the DEH&CW strategic planning.
  3. Assist Director in planning and facilitation of annual DEH&CW Strategic Planning and/or Annual DEH&CW Staff meeting.
  4. Develop and manage stakeholder internal and external relationships with various organizational and government partners including attending meetings and representing SSCHC at presentations, panels, workgroups, etc.
  5. Other duties as assigned by the Director of DEH&CW.
Qualifications: 
  1. Advanced degree in public health or environmental science discipline; consideration will be made for a suitable combination of previous academic and professional experience.
  2. Experience in all aspects of developing and managing multiple projects, including supervision of staff, grant development/reporting, monthly and annual budgeting, program analysis and evaluation.
  3. Experience and competency leading teams including diverse teams and audiences of various ages and from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
  4. Ability to work independently and in a group setting.
  5. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  6. Proficiency with MS Office, experience with MS Access or similar database platforms and experience with Geographical Information Systems.
  7. Proficiency with OCHIN EMR (training provided).
  8. Coaching and training skills.
  9. Strong analytical skills.
  10. Attention to detail, highly organized.
  11. Ability to meet driving requirement, include clean driving record and ability to maintain auto insurance.
  12. Ability to speak Spanish, preferred
