Job Description
Join our team which is committed to the delivery of the highest quality health care service.  We are seeking a full-time Internist that is self-motivated, energetic, and a take charge individual.

Job Responsibilities:
 
  1. Provides primary health care services to adults emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention as well as diagnosis and management of acute and chronic health conditions.
  2. Provides comprehensive primary care including inpatient services and after hours coverage.
  3. Provides wellness care for adults, including screening and immunizations.
  4. Teaches health promotion, wellness, and disease prevention.
  5. Diagnoses and, in partnership with the patient, manages acute and chronic health conditions.
  6. Orders, conducts and interprets diagnostic studies and laboratory tests.
  7. Prescribes medication.
  8. Prepares and maintains medical patient reports and records.
  9. Participates in the development of medical policies, procedures and standards of care.
  10. Participates in the evaluation of the care given.
  11. Participates in the training of nurse practitioners, medical students and medical residents.
  12. Participates in clinic staffing, Quality Assurance Committee meetings and Total Quality Management trainings and work groups as requested.

Qualifications: 

 
  1. Licensed as a physician in the State of Wisconsin.
  2. Completion of Internal Medicine Residency from an accredited Internal Medical Program.
  3. Board certification or eligible for Board Certification in Internal Medicine.
  4. Insurable for liability coverage as an Internist.
  5. Working knowledge of the social and cultural factors associated with the community’s use of social and health care services.
  6. Ability to understand patient attitudes and needs, develop and orient program goals and concepts accordingly, and to work effectively toward their accomplishment with all staff members.
  7. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, officials, the public, patients, other private and public organizational representative, health care personnel and community groups and organizations.
  8. Ability to work under pressure, maintains personal composure, evaluate situations and act/react appropriately, and use tact in dealing with visitors, patients and difficult situations.
  9. Ability to identify and maintain confidential material.
  10. Ability to interpret and conform program operations to applicable laws, rules, regulations and funding source requirements and according to acceptable standards.
  11. Spanish speaking preferred.
