Job Description
DB Consulting Group, Inc. is looking for a candidate that supports the development, implementation and coordination of the Division’s data management processes which support surveillance, research and web application objectives.

Summary of Qualifications:
  • Coordinates with DOH staff and other stakeholders on data cleaning, data management, data analysis, statistical analysis, code development, data interpretation, quality assurance, and data presentation. This work includes adjusting schedules and plans as necessary, identifying and resolving issues, coordinating, assisting and improving processes that result in the timely output of surveillance and research dissemination products.
  • Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team from across the Center in planning, management and modernization of the Division’s IT project portfolio. This work includes defining project scope, requirements, and deliverables; monitoring project activities and resources to mitigate risk; implementing or maintaining quality assurance processes; and providing presentations and briefings to Division leadership to ensure alignment of projects to program mission and available resources.
  • Coordinates the planning, construction and maintenance of databases and the storage, manipulation and retrieval of data from network systems. This work includes developing standard operating procedures and documentation for all data processes and developing other resource materials as needed.
  • Coordinates the creation of and uploading datasets to IT applications and performing usability tests and quality checks with IT developers through staging and project release. This work includes adjusting schedules and plans as necessary; identifying and resolving issues; and coordinating, assisting and improving processes that result in the timely output of IT projects.
  • Provides advanced data analysis and statistical methodology activities to develop documents which support the Division’s broad scientific agenda in surveillance and research. These include, but are not limited to, research documents, surveillance summaries, manuscripts for peer reviewed scientific journals, proposals, non-research materials and web site content.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams consisting of epidemiologists, economists, statisticians, environmental engineers, public health advisors and dental officers in data related activities that contribute to development of scientific reports. This work includes project conceptualization, data management, statistical consultation on methodology, code development, data analysis and interpretation, quality assurance, and development of graphics and tables, resulting in high quality scientific dissemination products. Participating in production of publications directed by CDC with authorship as warranted by authorship guidelines.
  • Manages data and conduct analyses with national and state data bases using Excel, Access, SAS and SUDAAN. This work includes activities related to survey sampling, statistical methods for complex survey data, advanced regression modeling and data interpretation, and evaluating existing software for meeting complex multi-layered and/or multi- step needs of technical and scientific requests. Provide analytic support for all data requests.
  • Ensures quality of scientific dissemination products by creating and implementing methods and protocols to review and monitor data quality. This work includes performing quality assurance on internal and external releases of large complex data sets, throughout all processes of data management, analysis, interpretation and presentation.
  • Collaborates with CDC staff to develop supporting documentation of data code and analyses in order to comply with agency requirements for data transparency. Assists with writing of protocols for data management, data analysis, quality assurance and data base maintenance.
  • Collaborates with CDC staff to analysis data related to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) as it relates to the oral health and assist with developing protocol for monitoring and managing this data.
 

Education:

Master’s Degree in Statistics, Data Science, or similar discipline

Minimum Requirements:

  • Formulation of procedural guidance
