This hands-on position is responsible for managing the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings and other facilities. The position plans, budgets and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor materials and other related costs. Also, directs and manages the Facilities department along with all EHS responsibilities reporting to the Vice President and General Manager.
Manages all aspects of the physical facility
Manages all aspects related to the environment/health/safety (EHS) of the facility
Manages all Capital improvement projects from inception to completion; including competitive bid process
Responsible for maintaining the process equipment and systems required by production including compressed air, vacuum, R.O. water, nitrogen, LN2, and power
Manages environmental equipment to ensure environmental standards are maintained, and manage janitorial services to ensure cleanliness requirements are achieved
Manages all aspects of EHS plant wide including chemical processing, handling and storage of waste streams, and safety aspects of chemicals
Monitors and maintains all plant processes to assure availability for production needs and requirements; manages preventive maintenance of facility equipment, including HVAC and production equipment
Manages all outside vendors and contractors for maintenance needs and plant wide improvement initiatives as set by the Director of Operations and Production Manager; ensures outside vendors meet performance standards
Maintains Facility operation and EHS standards within departmental budgets
Coordinates training requirements for internal Emergency Response team as needed
Administers all Human Resources programs and policies (including selection, promotion, transfers, salary administration and termination) without regard to race, religion, sex, national origin, age or handicap of those assigned to the Facilities/EHS department
Requirements:
High school or equivalent education
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Facilities management
Minimum 5 years’ experience in an EHS environment and leadership role
Current RCRA, DOT hazardous waste shipper, Hazwoper, and OSHA required training
Demonstrated ability to work independently
High level of mechanical aptitude and proven problem solving skills
Knowledge of electrical, plumbing and H.V.A.C. required
May require handling of or exposure to chemicals used in the assembly process
Ability to use Microsoft Office 2016 applications, especially Work and Outlook
Intra, interdepartmental and external contact
Must be able to respond 24 hours for emergencies and security issues at the facility
Must be able to work multiple shifts when necessary
Ability to obtain a Government granted security clearance, if necessary
Requires a mixture of standing, walking, squatting, climbing, and sitting
Occasional lifting and moving of material and fixtures over 25 pounds and up to 60 pounds; infrequent movement of equipment with casters in excess of 100 pounds
