Job Description
The Configuration Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining a configuration baseline and providing the required configuration documentation control and processing changes to authorized configurations.  In addition, provides guidance to lower-level analysts and ensures internal processes are followed.
  • Analyzes documentation received to assure completeness and reproducibility and monitors progress until discrepancies are corrected; reports program progress to program management and customers
  • Receives data in electronic format and audits for completeness and accuracy
  • Inputs drawing information received from customers into system.  Creates and maintains Bill of Material (BOM) structures and ensures revision history is maintained throughout the product lifecycle
  • Provides periodic status of assigned programs against established due dates including detailing program progress and problems
  • Performs change control functions in accordance with established configuration procedures including Configuration Change Order (CCO), Engineering Change Proposal (ECP), Request for Deviation (RFD) and Request for Waiver (RFW) activity
  • Organizes and maintains records to reflect configuration history including the drawing control system, CCO/ECP logs, drawing files and ECP files
  • Reviews Physical Configuration Audits (PCA)
  • Publishes configuration management data such as the Engineering Baseline, Configuration Status Accounting Report (CSAR), etc.
  • Creates and maintains procedures in order to carry out the functions of configuration management
  • Generates and reviews Government required configuration data per contractual requirements
  • Performs as a backup for document control responsibilities
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum seven years of experience in an electronic manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and generate technical drawings
  • Experience in the use of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system
  • Experience in the use of a company Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
  • Experience leading Change Control Board (CCB)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and team building skills
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Inter, intra-department and external contact required
  • Possess or have the ability to obtain a U.S. Government granted security clearance
