Job Description

PROVAIL has exciting opportunities for Employment Consultants to join our team! In this role you will support people with disabilities through their career journey, and help businesses build a more inclusive workforce. As an entry position into the field of disability employment services, this is a great job if you are just starting a Social Work or Human Services career, or if you are refocusing your experience to make a difference in the world.   This role requires daily driving in your own vehicle and will support individuals in Bellevue, Everett, Seattle, and surrounding neighborhoods. This is a full time position that typically works Monday-Friday during normal business hours but may require some need for occasional nights/weekends based business needs.

PROVAIL was founded in 1942 by parents of children with cerebral palsy. They created some of the first community services for individuals with cerebral palsy and other severe disabilities in the area. Our mission is supporting people with disabilities to fulfill their life choices. We help people decide how they want to live their life in the community and then provide the support services they need to act on those choices. We are one of the state’s largest private, multi-service agencies dedicated to meeting the needs of children and adults with all types of disabilities.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop service plans for people on your caseload, while consulting with businesses to help develop new jobs. 
  • Help employers develop natural supports that work for everyone. 
  • Visit job sites to coach participants using positive behavior support techniques. 
  • Meet with potential employers to develop customized jobs. 
  • Discover client interest and abilities and translate those into paid jobs. 
  • Document progress toward goals using cloud-based apps on cell phone or company provided Chromebook. 
  • Attend planning meetings with clients to set career goals.

What you’ll bring:

  • Degree in a related field. One year of disability experience in human services, social work, teaching, psychology, etc. may be accepted in lieu of a degree. 
  • Reliable transportation and ability to drive for work including valid driver’s license in good standing and proof of auto insurance.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities in a community setting is preferred. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills.
  • Professional, collaborative and outcome-driven approach.
  • An open and positive approach to life.
  • We’ll provide thorough training in the three-step process of Discovery, Job Development, and Follow-along Coaching.
