Job Description
We are seeking a full-time Security Officer Team Leader. 

Responsibilities:
  1. The mission of a security officer is to support the Sixteenth Street Community Health Center by providing security services to staff, employees, clients, patients, volunteers and visitors.
  2. All services are to be provided in such a manner as to demonstrate a friendly, congenial attitude.  Conversations and personal contacts are to provide the clients and patients with the distinct impression that being of service is a pleasure.  Officers should take into consideration the safety and security of all staff, employees, patients, clients, volunteers, visitors, and assets.
  3. Perform basic patrolling at SSCHC Agency Sites:  Chavez, Parkway, WIC, and anywhere else deemed necessary.
  4. Security officers are required to work 7:00 A.M. - 11:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, 7:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M., on Saturday and 10:30 A.M. – 6:00 P.M. on Sunday.  Notice will be given when security is necessary for extracurricular events.
  5. Greet clients, patients and visitors and provide them with general service location information and direct them to the appropriate destination.
  6. All Security Officers are responsible for training in accordance with Security and SSCHC policies and procedures to provide a safe and secure environment.
  7. Maintain and assure a safe and quiet environment for staff, patients, and clients.
  8. Prepare daily activity reports, incident reports, field interview cards, FYI reports; conduct on-site investigations and complete any other paperwork necessary.
  9. Building Patrol will include, but is not limited to, the following: A systematic review of doors, windows, lighting, safety/emergency equipment, and parking lots.  Look for physical hazards, threats, problems, suspicious behavior/items, and changes in the environment.
  10. Warn all violators of infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, parking violations, etc.
  11. Observe all departing personnel for safety and to guard against theft of clinic property.
  12. Call the police when visitors pose a threat to others.
  13. Document and report all significant security and facility-related incidents to the Security Manager.
  14. Secondary responder to alarm calls, discuss with police if necessary and debrief Security Manager and/or Vice President of Human Resources.
  15. Responsible for immediately contacting on-call facilities staff if alarm was resulted by or affected a facilities or maintenance related issue.
  16. Assist with the administration of alarm access code system and monitor opening and closing reports from MAC.
  17. Interim oversight of Security department and staff in absence of Security Manager. This includes but not limited to:
  • Time and Attendance approval
  • Corrective Actions
  • Camera System review (with Security Manager’s/ Vice President of Human Resources’ approval)
  • Periodic checks of all buildings to ensure officers are performing duties as required by the agency
  • Provide officers with feedback as necessary and discuss escalated matters with Security Manager
  • Participate in Safety Committee meetings

Qualifications:
 
  1. Must be at least 18 years old.
  2. Must have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and current auto insurance.
  3. High school diploma or GED.
  4. Must have basic reading and writing skills needed for completing reports.
  5. Must have good comprehension of the English language (ability to speak, read and write it) for security purposes.
  6. Bilingual –Spanish/English preferred.
  7. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
  8. Dependable and of good character.
  9. Considerable tact and human relation skills dealing with all levels of management, employees and the public.
  10. Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  11. Must be able to work irregular hours.
