Job Description
Join our team who is committed to the delivery of the highest quality health care service. We are seeking a full-time Controller that is self-motivated, energetic, and a take charge individual. 

Job Summary: 


Responsible for annual budget process, month-end financial analysis, pro-formas, and short- and long-term planning and pricing strategies. Analyzes operations of SSCHC regarding re-engineering, pricing, profitability, and compliance related issues, driving improved operational efficiency to aid the organization’s growth. Negotiates contracts with managed care, insurance carriers, and other payers. Provides financial and business decision support to senior management by producing thorough financial status reports with evaluation, analysis, and reporting of appropriate data points. In addition, this position will assist in maintaining strong financial controls to guarantee compliance with federal/state rules and regulations and to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Responsibilities: 
 
  1. Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements as well as the requirements of private contributions, loans, and government contracts.
  2. Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures.
  3. In conjunction with the CFO, establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards.
  4. Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, upholding federal, state, and local legal standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new, and future legislation.
  5. Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow.
  6. Develop and implement short-and-long-term work plans for the finance department in support of SSCHC Strategic Plan.
  7. Identify, analyze, and resolve workflow problems within the department to drive business results and operating efficiency.
  8. Develop pro-formas for all new business lines, programs, additional locations.
  9. Serve as a resource person to VPs and directors on all financial matters and manage the variance review process every month-end.
  10. Under the direction of the CFO, track and negotiate contracts with managed care, insurance carriers and other payers.
  11. Under the direction of the CFO, forecast and track payer quality bonuses and incentives.
  12. At all times adheres to the written departmental policies and procedures as well as SSCHC’s financial policy, and all HIPPA rules and regulations.
  13. Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.
  14. Resolve operational problems and conflicts and keep lines of communication open with staff and other departments to ensure high productivity and moral.
Qualifications: 
  1. Individual should possess a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with 3-5 plus years of accounting experience in healthcare, preferably in a senior role.
  2. Master’s degree and or CPA eligible preferred.
  3. Strong working knowledge of detailed financial data analysis.
  4. Ability to create processes that ensure financial controls and compliance with auditing requirements.
  5. Proven AP and Payroll experience, with a focus on streamlining accounting processes.
  6. Exemplary history of financial project management.
  7. Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting.
  8. Ability to manage detailed work and maintain confidentiality.
  9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  10. Ability to relate well to people from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
