Job Description
Position Summary

This is a junior level position that generally performs several specialized marketing functions to increase revenue, traffic, visibility, and search rankings by applying SEO techniques and tools across domains.

People with this title may have a scope of work that focuses on one or more areas of marketing and web development, such as analytics, editing websites, writing, reporting, recommending new third party tools and so on. The principal responsibilities may define the particular details of the position differently for each person in the role.

Essential Functions

 
  • Webmaster for multiple websites - implementation and continued optimization of server hosting, site speed, analytics, SEO, content, links, third-party integrations, and more.
  • Responsible for SEO on the ANSI webstore, ansi.org, the ANSI blog, ANAB.ansi.org, and all other ANSI, ANAB, and Workcred web properties
  • Recommend, prototype, A/B test, and/or deploy improvements to enterprise level e-commerce platform, as well as other informational and transactional websites.
  • Instruct other staff across three companies in SEO and web related best practices.
  • Has autonomy to utilize SQL to automate creation and maintenance of web pages.
  • Utilizes SEO tools to crawl ANSI domains, gathering data to guide future development.
  • SEO and analytics subject matter expert for all websites, especially during the development phase.
  • Serve as an adviser for the IT department on SEO related technologies.
  • Agile practioner for seamless integration with agile methodologies where applied.
  • Marketing/tech liaison for cross-departmental projects.
  • Tracks user behavior on ANSI websites by developing new analytics methods.
  • Provide UI/UX, site testing, site crawling, and other contributions to development teams.
  • Demonstrates appropriate judgment in following established editorial guidelines.
  • Reviews and revises aging content on ansi.org, webstore, and other properties to ensure content and links are up to date.
  • Reviews news, industry events, and other developments and stays in touch with web technologies to maintain compliance with the latest standards.
  • Reviews referrer logs and contacts webmasters about obsolete links and new opportunities.
  • Assorted other responsibilities at the intersection of marketing and technology.
  • Information Security Responsibilities: As an employee of ANSI, you shall adhere to the following requirements of the Information Security Management System (ISMS):
  • Attend/complete assigned information security training by the designated completion date.
  • Read and adhere to published ISMS policies and procedures.
  • Report timely any observed violations of ISMS policy – or known encroachments on information security – to your department leader and/or the Information Technology Department.

Education and Experience
 
  • College degree and 3-5 years’ experience

Other Qualifications
 
  • Demonstrated writing ability
  • Knowledge of SEO
  • Intermediate knowledge of web coding
  • Proficiency in Google suite (Analytics, Tag Manager, and others)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency with SEO tools (ScreamingFrog, seoMOZ, and others)
  • Experience with CMS platforms (Wordpress, Hubspot, and others).
  • Clear expression in written communications; and strong interpersonal skills
  • Basic SQL database experience
  • Basic knowledge of domains, hosting, and DNS
  • Basic technical knowledge of standards and standards industry
  • Basic knowledge of statistical methods
