The online marketing specialist is an entry level to junior position that serves as a content creator and marketing resource to support website search rankings and traffic and increase awareness and revenue of standards products, membership, training, events and accreditation services. The online marketing specialist is accountable for annual goals and metrics for audience growth, organic search visibility, and qualitative measures of user experience and brand equity, along with revenue as appropriate to support the overall objectives of the company. This position stays current with trends in online marketing and analytics and demonstrates proficiency in the use of the techniques, tools, and platforms pertinent to the role.
Essential Functions
Writes and researches articles for blog.ansi.org.
Maintains a thorough comprehension of organization's products and services, diligently examining supplementary information when applicable.
Uses Google Analytics, as well as other reporting services and platforms, to interpret and report on performance and conduct competitive analysis
Makes use of SEO to maintain competitiveness with desired keywords on organization properties.
Works with online marketing team to promote and advance products and initiatives on managed social media platforms.
Maintains communication with partners to keep track of shared initiatives and utilizes managed platforms to execute.
Remains well versed in trends in marketing and champions new platforms and approaches to drive website traffic, revenue, and awareness and meet marketing goals.
Executes paid social media advertising campaigns to ensure they meet their objectives for messaging, targeting, positioning, revenue, traffic, awareness and other goals.
Information Security Responsibilities
Attend/complete assigned information security training by the designated completion date.
Read and adhere to published ISMS policies and procedures.
Report timely any observed violations of ISMS policy - or known encroachments on information security - to your department leader and/or the Information Technology Department.
Education and Experience
4-year college degree.
Certifications in social media and/or content management systems a plus.
2-5 years marketing experience with emphasis on blogging, social media, content creation.
Other Qualifications
Required:
Clear expression in written and verbal communications.
Proficiency in using Google Analytics and other SEO reporting tools
Comfortable with ambiguity and capable of making decisions in the absence of complete information.
Understanding and interest in technology, engineering, science, manufacturing
Knowledge of web technologies and trends, computer network technologies, and search engine optimization (SEO).
Desired:
Prior experience researching and writing compelling web content in a technical field.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Adobe Creative Suite
Experience using WordPress.
Basic advertising experience, such as positioning, ad copy, and graphics.
