Job Description
Join our team who is committed to the delivery of the highest quality health care service.  We are seeking a full-time WIC Nutritionist - Non-RD that is self-motivated, energetic, and a take charge individual.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Determines WIC eligibility by identifying risk factors.
  • Assesses nutritional needs and provides nutrition counseling and follow up for eligible WIC clientele.
  • Develops individual care plans and provides anticipatory guidance for WIC clients.
  • Monitors client care follow up recommendations as written in the WIC participant Care Plan.
  • Modifies Care Plans according to changing client and family needs.
  • Completes documentation in the following ROSIE fields during certification appointments: Pregnancy, Breastfeeding, Health, Diet, Risk, Immunization, Benefits, Care Plan, Finish, Education and Comments.
  • Determines Food Instruments (FI) issuance interval, tailors FI benefits based on client needs, and prints FI.
  • Refers clients to appropriate social and community resources.
  • Provides individual nutrition education and diet counseling to high-risk clients.
  • Authorizes requests for prescribed non-contract special formulas.
  • Makes and approves medical referrals to qualified health professionals.
  • Plans, conducts, and evaluates group and individual nutrition education classes.
  • Participates in preparation and delivery of nutrition education materials.
  • In conjunction with Project Nutritionist; actively participates in the training of dietetic students.
  • Reads and follows all policies and procedures in the on-line Wisconsin WIC Operations and ROSIE User’s Guide.
Qualifications:
  • Registered Dietetic Technician: must maintain the DTR credential during the time of employment or Dietitian: registry-eligible and pass the ADA exam within six months of hire date and then maintain the RD credential during the time of employment.
  • One to two years’ experience, preferably in WIC or maternal and child nutrition.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups.
  • Excellent oral, written, and electronic communication skills.
  • Ability to relate well to people from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.
