Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Diploma or degree in a technical field or 5 to 7 years equivalent experience in: mechanical, electrical, computer, or biomedical field.
  • 7 years of direct field service (or equivalent) experience troubleshooting and repairing computerized electro-mechanical systems.
  • 7 years of experience working in a service capacity with direct customer interaction.
  • Strong familiarity with Industrial Automation PLC Systems, as they relate to the Company’s products.
  • Broad technical knowledge base including mechanical, electrical and software including automated systems with sensors, servo motors, stepper motors, electrical grippers and robotic arms.
  • Systems Administrator level knowledge of Windows Operating systems and associated application software.
  • Complete understanding of TCP/IP based networking and routing.
  • Knowledge of Windows, Windows networking, Windows workstation and MS Office Suite.
Essential Functions:
  • The Technical Specialist will act as an internal escalation point for all service calls not within the capabilities of the 3rd party service company, Customer Support or the local FSR (Field Service Representative).
  • Perform software and hardware preventive and corrective maintenance as needed when an FSR/CSR is unavailable.
  • Ensure that all devices sold by the Company are operating and functional whether they are serviced by the original manufacturer or by Company personnel. 
  • Monitor and support 3rd party and internal resources while escalated emergency break fix service calls are being completed.
  • Supports the facility IT group with any enhancements or upgrades that may impact the operation of the Company system by providing information and technical knowledge for a successful implementation.
