Job Description

Western Aircraft, Inc., one of the largest aircraft services companies in the West, has exciting  opportunities for Structures/Sheet Metal Technicians in beautiful Boise, Idaho! 

**Shifts include Monday through Thursday (four 10 hour shifts), or Friday/Saturday/Sunday (three 12 hour shifts)**

 
Job Summary
Inspect, test, repair, maintain, and service aircraft using test equipment and hand tools, as needed, to return aircraft to service per FAA and manufacturers specifications.  QUALIFIED APPLICANTS MUST HAVE an A CERTIFICATION OR BE WILLING TO OBTAIN ONE WITHIN 6 MONTHS.

Job Duties

  • Learns and/or performs routine maintenance and inspections on general aviation aircraft

  • Performs structural repairs and modifications

  • Ensures proper care of customer property through all phases of maintenance work

  • Accurately completes required paperwork and work order details in Corridor

  • Meets or beats flat rates for most of the assigned tasks

  • Understands and follows all safety procedures and utilizes support equipment in a safe manner

  • Responsible for completing training syllabus for advancement to next level

  • Performs other duties as directed

 
Qualification:
Experience:

  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in general aviation preferred

  • Minimum two (2) years’ performing structural repairs and modifications with Sheet Metal

  • Experience working with composite materials a plus

  • Basic knowledge of Sheet Metal assembly techniques required

  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics required

  • Able to complete assigned tasks within the allotted amount of time

  • Able to work overtime as needed, evenings and weekends

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to follow directions

  • Organized and detail oriented

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Positive attitude, professional appearance and demeanor

Education & Certifications:

  • Airframe Certification preferred – will need to work toward obtaining this certification within a specific time parameter if not already certified
