Job Description
DB Consulting Group, Inc. has an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Analyst (Engineer III).  This individual is responsible for applying advanced technical knowledge and skills while working closely with engineering and technical personnel to sustain operational systems and equipment and prepare for the Next/Tomorrow technologies and processes. Tasks include a variety of tasks such as system design reviews, test and integration of system modifications, development and use of test labs, the resolution of complex system anomalies, equipment supportability studies, generation of technical service bulletins, development and dissemination of formal and informal training, and provision of technical analysis during meetings. Typical equipment supported includes, but is not limited to, computational, networking, voice, video, data communications systems, as well as digital / analog data I/O conversion equipment used to interact with panels and displays. Primary work schedule is day shift with occasional weekend and Holidays.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The application of advanced technical knowledge along with S/W and H/W diagnostic tools, research, and system replication in a test lab environment to solve moderate to complex anomalous conditions for hardware sub-systems (see summary examples).
  • Ability to interpret and utilize system flow charts, diagrams, and vendor documentation to evaluate design change proposals, validate system performance, or resolve anomalies.
  • Ability to learn and evolve with the latest NASA Flight Operations Directorate workmanship standards pertaining to cable crimp and harness, hand soldering, copper and fiber optic cable fabrication, and wire-wrapping.
  • Use approved workmanship techniques while following approved engineering standards and instructions to perform such tasks as: replacing components, building, repairing, and testing cables, building circuit boards and panel assemblies. Repair moderate to complex electronic subsystems using test equipment (Scopes, VOM, Analyzers)
  • Perform equipment/systems sustaining assessment including performance, efficiency, and cost effectiveness based on customer requirements. Provide recommendations for a reliability-based maintenance plan leveraging sparing, diagnostics, preventive/predictive maintenance, and vendor contracts.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills in order to interact and negotiate with customers, vendors, engineering, and co-workers.
  • Review existing technical documents for relevance and accuracy. Develop technical documentation as needed for new processes and preventive maintenance activities to facilitate troubleshooting and to ensure equipment and personnel safety (technical tips, diagnostics, preventive maintenance instructions, job hazard analyses, etc.).
  • The ability to communicate technical content in written and oral fashion or through presentations
  • The ability to learn and abide by NASA/Flight Operations Directorate Electrostatic Sensitive Device (ESD) guidelines to safeguard static sensitive electronic components.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with the following: Microsoft Office, Windows, Linux, Voice and Video over IP, UNIX. Networking Servers, Switches, Routers, Hubs, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, EDID. Ability to gather status and use information from Windows and Linux Operating Systems to resolve anomalies.
  • Learn and comply with NASA Cybersecurity, sensitive data handling, and Information awareness.
     
Experience Requirements:  
  • 10 plus years of Computer Science related experience
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance
  • Highly desirable certifications for the following: Compute/Storage/Network Certifications for Cisco, Dell, IBM, HP systems, Microsoft Windows, Linux Red Hat OS


Education Requirements: 
B.S degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or related technical degree.
