Brakebush Brothers, Inc. is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Intern in Irving, Texas

Brakebush started in 1925 with two brothers and one truck providing sugar and eggs delivery in central Wisconsin. The business grew to meet market needs, along with our reputation. IRVING, TX is home to our state-of-the-art portioning facility, which supplies our plants and national accounts. Irving, TX is home to 8,500 business, including Fortune 500 companies. It offers an active cultural and music scene, a world-class bike path, and makes a great base to explore the Dallas/Ft. Worth metropolitan area.   

YOUR FOOD SAFETY & QUALITY ASSURANCE INTERNSHIP involves several key functions:    
  • Obtaining a good understanding of our poultry food safety & quality systems
  • Working with team members from various departments to help support and learn the QA department
  • Completing assigned projects essential to the business, while also helping give you real life industry experience

WHO YOU ARE:  
  • You are currently pursuing an advanced degree in food science, meat/poultry science, animal science or related field
  • Attained Sophomore status by May 30th, 2022
  • Key base knowledge needed is to understand concepts of food safety and quality assurance
  • Key technical skill of Microsoft Office/Office 365 is preferred
  • Key human skills needed include communication, public speaking, eagerness to learn and core values

This is a paid internship at $18.00/hour.

Most internships run 12-14 weeks from mid-May through August. We are flexible with most personal summer plans. Hiring managers will discuss intern duration and summer schedules with candidates.
