The scope of this job is to provide strategic management support to the ANSI International Policy Department in the coordination, implementation and growth of ANSI’s international projects and development programs. This primarily includes monitoring contract compliance for current projects and development programs, strategic planning for current and future projects, supporting a community of practice for quality contract compliance amongst the international development team, and assisting in the identification and pursuit of new opportunities. Essential Functions
Supports the Senior Director, International Development and other International Policy staff in the administration and implementation of several international projects; including developing coherent department strategies to support existing programs, ensuring coherence across international development programs, reviewing contract requirements and recommending procedures to ensure compliance, communication with ANSI members and stakeholders, and other activities as needed.
Work with the Senior Director, International Development to identify new opportunities to gain government and private-sector funding to support international capacity building projects that advance U.S. objectives internationally, while increasing visibility and revenue growth for the Institute.
Serve as a proactive champion for promoting contract compliance and work with both operations and other program staff to ensure the execution of all project activities meet contract requirements.
Helps to ensure that ANSI’s international projects and development initiatives effectively communicate and promote U.S. policies and positions for standards and conformance.
Supports departmental budgeting, project and document management, and related activities
Engages external stakeholders including ANSI members, donor organizations, and others in support of ANSI’s international development programs
Monitors international and U.S. government trade and standardization policy activities and works to align them with ANSI policies.
Implements ANSI policies and administrative decisions, and lends expertise to ANSI’s international policy development.
Coordinates with other staff and members as necessary to effectively achieve project goals within budgetary constraints.
Performs other duties and carries out special projects as necessary, including support for the Vice President, International Policy.
Information Security Responsibilities
Attend/complete assigned information security training by the designated completion date.
Read and adhere to published ISMS policies and procedures.
Report timely any observed violations of ISMS policy - or known encroachments on information security - to your department leader and/or the Information Technology Department.
Education and Experience
Bachelors’ degree required; further study a strong plus
7+ years work experience in a related field,including at least 5 years of experience related to U.S. government contract compliance and management
Other Qualifications
Familiarity with donor funded projects and systems such as rules and regulations, project financial management, contractual compliance, and grants management
Experience with USAID project management and proficiency in USAID regulations, ADS and procurement procedures preferred
Proven business development and/or fundraising experience
International experience (either studying or working) strongly preferred, particularly in Africa
Ability to work effectively in fast-paced and rapidly changing environments
Ability to work effectively with various levels within the organization
Project management experience; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus
Outstanding written and oral English communication skills, and attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Project)
Position requires international travel (in line with global health recommendations)
