Job Overview

The SEO/SEM specialist will work closely with the Director and multiple teams across the Marcom departments to implement and optimize our search strategy across both organic and paid search engine rankings.

The SEO/SEM Specialist is responsible for managing all SEO activities such as keyword strategy, content strategy and link building to increase organic search rankings and drive search traffic from Google, Bing, Yahoo, and other search engines. Must have the ability to create and oversee paid ads while continually optimizing for performance.

An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.

  • Optimize copy and landing pages for SEO.
  • Perform ongoing keyword research including the discovery and expansion of keyword opportunities.
  • Conduct research and implement content strategies for ongoing SEO success.
  • Recommend changes to the website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords.
  • Execute tests, collect and analyze data and track metrics on an ongoing basis using Google Analytics as the foundation.
  • Work with some or all A/B split testing, heat maps, filters, funnels, etc.
  • Ad creation and management.
  • Use retargeting platforms such as Google Ads to manage ad performance.
  • Use SEO Management software, such as SEMRush, to gather intel and make recommendations for increased performance.

  • EDUCATION - Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Journalism or a related field.
  • EXPERIENCE - Three years of freelance/contractor/agency experience.
    • Strongly Preferred Skills and Experience:
      • 4 years or more of paid SEO/SEM and social media work.
      • Strong level of proficiency in creating SEO strategy and delivering social media campaigns.
      • Proven SEM experience managing PPC campaigns and adhering to budgets across Google, Yahoo, and Bing.
      • Working knowledge of relevant HTML and CSS.
      • Excellent grammar and communication skills.
      • High attention to detail.
      • Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion and online customer acquisition.
      • Strong organizational skills and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
      • Experience with estimating level of effort to perform project and/or tasks.
      • Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite, the Google Suite, Google Tools, and familiarity with all popular browsers.
      • Must enjoy working in diverse subject matter.
      • Good critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.
      • Ability to work well with others and exercise good judgement.
      • Google AdWords Certified a plus.
  • EQUIVALENCY - Professional experience, beyond requirements, in a related field may substitute for a Bachelor degree requirement on a year for year basis.

Salary Information

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $57,085.51 to $85,628.26
Hourly Salary Range: $27.44 to $41.17
