Production Coordinator

The Production Coordinator is a critical member of the Operations team.  The Production Coordinator is responsible for releasing production orders, picking materials, and ensuring materials are supplied where and when they are needed.  In addition, maintaining safety and cleanliness within the warehouse always.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Download open order report to retrieve clear to build orders for production.
  • Release production orders to the material handling queue.
  • Create job folders and visual board magnets.
  • Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  • Performs in system transfers from bins to ensure accurate inventory levels are always maintained.
  • Works with production team to replace any non-conforming materials and submits proper documentation for any quality issues while transferring item(s) into the appropriate bin locations within system.
  • Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
  • Coordinate with Team Coordinators and Planners to ensure that the correct jobs are being prepared for each work center.
  • Keep the warehouse organized and tidy and implement general housekeeping practices to main workplace cleanliness.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally within the operations (production, customer service, supply chain, operations, shipping, etc.) while maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Ability to multi-task while receiving guidance from various team members. Works well in a fast-paced, high pressure environment.
  • Reports any problems to the Planner related to inventory levels, system issues, or other pressing issues. 
  • All other duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of inventory and/or material handling experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience maneuvering pallet jack and forklift driving certification preferred.
  • High School or GED degree.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management and time management.
  • Computer skills required – excel proficient and ability to learn GP ERP system.
  • Proven ability to work within a team environment and be a self-starter.
  • Other competencies – Basic math, writing, and oral communication abilities.
  • Physical demands – ability to lift up to 50lbs., stand/walk continuously and perform physical tasks.
