Wedding Sales Manager Job Description

We have an immediate opening for a Wedding (and, Family Social) Sales Manager.  With your superior sales expertise, excellent customer service skills, and excitement for the hospitality industry, you'll be responsible for selling Weddings (and, Family Social Events) at The Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.
We have excellent traffic flow through social media and need a Rock Star salesperson to complete the sale! We also need a driven marketer with fresh ideas for new social media ads, open houses, anything to drive more traffic to our venue, and ultimately, CLOSE DEALS! This individual must be experienced and comfortable with nurturing current marketing channels (The Knot, Wedding Wire, etc.) and creating new ones, too. This candidate must have notable success building rapport, analyzing customer needs, and overcoming objections. The successful candidate will have a big personality and a passionate heart for serving our clients and creating a huge presence in the minds of DC couples.
In addition to working with clients, the Sales Manager will be required to work on special projects (as assigned) to support our organization.

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Create traditional and digital marketing campaigns to keep the lead pipeline full
  • Maintain and always be improving our existing sales & marketing partnerships
  • Follow up on all inbound leads
  • Prospecting, cold-calling, responding to incoming leads and generating new sales leads, setting appointments, sales calls (inside and outside), sales blitzes and site inspections  to build and maintain a pipeline that will exceed monthly, quarterly and annual quotas.
  • Create and maintain territory plans to execute to achieve your goals while providing forecast accuracy.
  • Accountable for monthly, quarterly and annual bookings and production targets.
  • Execute a consultative sales strategy and manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation to close
  • Prepare and present proposals and contracts, negotiate and close contracts/sales while managing the client relationship through the sales process, event operation and beyond.
  • Tracking and reporting progress
  • Become an expert in the market segment/s which make up your territory
  • Schedule and complete site inspections
  • Maintain a log of all daily sales activity
  • CLOSE THE DEALS! And book the property to capacity
  • Forward the guest details to our event planning managers
  • Evening and weekends work may be required for site visits and checking in with onsite brides
  • Ability to connect with clients from all different cultural/religious backgrounds (some knowledge of wedding customs would be great!) as well as the ability to connect with a multi-generational client base.
Position Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct sales experience (retail sales not applicable) where quotas were consistently met.  Must be driven to achieve quarterly sales targets.
  • Experience in the Wedding market
  • Proven sales track record and quota over achievement and managing accounts.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, ability to close the sale.
  • Selling via phone and personal sales calls
  • High level of enthusiasm, a strong work ethic, and highly self-motivated
  • Ability to work with all levels of individuals
  • Knowledge of the DC Metro area a plus.
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal. 
  • Basic proficiency using a CRM system
  • Must be adaptable, professional, courteous, motivated and work well on your own or as a member of a team
  • Ability to handle a dynamic environment and challenging workload
  • Experience in tourism, hotel, and/or hospitality industry a plus. Working at a venue is a definite plus.
  • Ability to consistently dream up and implement new marketing/lead-generating ideas
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
