Job Description

Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services (GCBHS) is seeking a Behavioral Health Consultant to provide Behavioral Health Therapy for individuals seeking services with Cincinnati Health Network and McMicken Health Clinic.

New $4,000 Sign On Bonus for LISW/LPCC or $3,000 for LSW/LPC.

The Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) role is embedded within Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services’ partnering health centers. The primary focus of the BHC is to deliver brief holistic, action-oriented, evidence-based services to primary care patients, as well as immediate concise consultation to medical providers. An active member of the primary care team, the BHC assists with implementation of primary care provider treatment plans, and supports diverse patients in achieving improved health outcomes, accelerating the patient’s experience of care, and efficiency of the practice. BHC identifies, triages, and empowers patients to make healthy lifestyle choices by activating self-management strategies, and motivational techniques to prevent or manage chronic physical and behavioral health conditions.

The ideal candidate for this role is a LISW or LPCC with counseling experience and must possess experience and skills working with individuals experiencing homelessness.  We will consider a LSW or LPC with the right experience and skills.  This is a full-time role with an excellent benefits package.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Assists primary health providers in recognizing and treating patients, understanding the connection between biological, psychological, and social health, and the ability to quickly collaborate with patient to formulate a plan of action toward well-being.
  • Performs targeted brief assessment and evaluation, including diagnostic impressions and functional status focused on presenting problem, engaging client in self-care and self-management strategies, lifestyle enhancements, and motivational techniques to prevent or manage chronic physical and behavioral health conditions.
  • Ensures the highest quality of care by working with an interdisciplinary team to: (a) develop and maintain program policies and procedures; (b) identify and eliminate barriers to care; (c) participate in quality assurance activities, including chart reviews, program evaluation, staff development trainings, and outcome analysis, as well as following a (d) shared ethical decision making model.
 Position Requirements:
  • Ohio LISW or LPCC required.
  • Ohio LSW or LPC may be considered
  • Must possess experience and skills to work with individuals experiencing homelessness.
