Miller keeps the tradition alive by focusing on its top priority: people. Job Description ITW Welding continues to build its capabilities in high volume progressive die stamping for Miller Products. To support the effort, we are looking for an experienced Mechanical Designer is to be a key driver of the ITW business model and principals. We are looking for a positive professional that has the ability to work well in a fast paced, dynamic manufacturing setting. This individual will assist the manufacturing support team with designing and implementation of dies and fixtures throughout the ITW Welding platform. This position will interact with product design engineers and machine operators for troubleshooting, diagnostics and development of new designs. Work is both independent and collaborative in nature. + Managing the design and purchase of new tooling packages + Determine best fit for production based on design and current capability + Work with tool house to estimate based on internal standards + Use tool quote to determine internal quote and material utilization + Knowledge and management of Purchase Orders + Approve final tool design + Participate in tool run-off and approve tool based on CPK study + Design auxiliary parts, set up tool for first run, program, approve first pieces + Complete documentation and PMs + Tool design and drafting + Management of third-party vendor relationships + Troubleshooting / Diagnostics of dies & fixtures + Equipment specification & capital investment requests + Coordinate die alterations + Management of Preventative Maintenance of die program + Continuous improvement Qualifications + 5-7 years' experience as a tool builder OR tool designer - required. The ideal candidate for this position will have a combination of experience in both tool building and design. + Proficient SolidWorks experience required. + Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, to include strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. + Working knowledge of AutoCAD preferred. + Ability to work well independently and in a team setting. + Strong mechanical aptitude. + Good problem-solving capability. + Ability to effectively prioritize projects. + Must be extremely customer focused. + Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
