HOW YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE

Reporting to the Project Director, this position will be responsible for coordinating the Communities Energized for Health (CEH) commercial tobacco prevention project scope of work components including but not limited to volunteer organizing and training, decision-maker outreach and education, educational visits and presentations, educational materials development, meeting facilitation, technical assistance, media outreach, and evaluation activities. CEH works towards policy/system change through education campaigns aimed to activate community engagement and address health disparities, specifically in rural, low socioeconomic and tribal communities, in a manner that is both culturally relevant and equitable in order to achieve legislated secondhand smoke (SHS) policies.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • BA/BS degree and/or equivalent experience in related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience/relationships with rural counties and/or underserved communities in California.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in tobacco/other advocacy, education and community strategies.
  • 1-3 years of experience in project coordination.
  • Knowledge of the cultural values, beliefs, needs and expectations of California rural and marginalized populations.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people with an understanding of and ability to gain the trust of key prioritized populations with whom the projects provide services.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, group facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with all MS Office applications (Excel, Word), Outlook and Internet.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with limited supervision.
  • Ability to provide initiative and oversee a project with multiple tasks from conception to completion.
  • Ability to balance completion of assigned project tasks, both short and long-term, with the performance of routine duties.
  • Ability to meet short deadlines and work additional hours during deadline periods.
  • Ability to travel as assigned. This position requires travel up to 60% of the time.
  • Valid driver’s license, acceptable DMV record and proof of auto insurance required.

Location: Remote (work from home) employment.

Starting Pay Range: $57,865-64,375
