Job Description

We are conducting telephone and/or video conferencing interviews during the public health crisis.


Counselors: Non-profit social service agency, in Napa, seeks certified and experienced substance abuse counselors to conduct screening and assessments; provide individual and group counseling; develop treatment plans; create and maintain client charts in compliance with regulatory agencies and funder; facilitate relapse prevention and continuing care services; and provide follow-up and aftercare counseling and case management in residential and out-patient settings. It is mandatory that counselors are registered or certified by a State of California Accredited Institution.Currently looking for counselors in our co-ed residential setting in Napa. The schedule could require weekends/evenings so must be flexible. Prior experience working with clients in a substance abuse treatment program is required. The requirements for the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Substance Abuse counselor registration, certification or clinical license from a State of California Accredited Institution; CCAPP, CADTP, BBS (LMFT, CCSW, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience providing substance abuse treatment services with criminal justice populations (state parole and probation) is required;
  • Experience with evidence-based substance abuse treatment models and an understanding of treatment modalities is expected;
  • Knowledge of community resources and services is preferred;
  • Must be able to pass and maintain a criminal justice security clearance;
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record.

- To be considered for a Drug and Alcohol Counselor Position you must be certified by or at least register with one of the following entities (being register for school only does not count):

  • California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAAP) Accredited Program– CertifiedAddiction Treatment Counselor
  • California Association of DUI Treatment Programs (CADTP) Accredited Program – CertifiedAlcohol & Other Drug Counselor
