We are conducting telephone and/or video conferencing interviews during the public health crisis.

Counselors: Non-profit social service agency seeks certified and experienced substance abuse counselors to conduct screening and assessments; provide individual and group counseling; develop treatment plans; create and maintain client charts in compliance with regulatory agencies and funder; facilitate relapse prevention and continuing care services; and provide follow-up and aftercare counseling and case management in out-patient settings.

The schedule could require weekends/evenings so must be flexible.

We are looking for Counselors in our Oakland facilities.

Prior experience working with clients in a substance abuse treatment program is required.

The requirements for the position include, but are not limited to the following:

• Substance Abuse or Mental Health or License Counseling Certification from a State of California Accredited Institution; MFT, RAS, CAS, etc.
• Demonstrated experience providing substance abuse treatment services with criminal justice populations (state parole and probation) is required;
• Experience with evidence-based substance abuse treatment models and an understanding of treatment modalities is expected;
• Knowledge of community resources and services is preferred;
• Must be able to pass and maintain a criminal justice security clearance; and
• Must possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record
